The signing of these agreements will make official the delivery to eight CIMs a total value of 354 million euros of EU funds of which 4.8 million correspond to support by the Cohesion Fund through the Operational Programme for Sustainability and Efficient Use of Resources (PO SEUR). It also includes structural and investment funds from the center of the Regional Operational Programmes (Centro 2020), Social Inclusion and Employment (PO ISE), and the Rural Development Programme (PDR 2020). This support will enable the implementation of the territorial development strategy defined by each CIM, ensuring greater autonomy in managing their projects.
In the total amount of EUR 354 million, 222.75 million euros correspond to the share of the ERDF - European Regional Development Fund, 107.8 million euros will come from the ESF - European Social Fund, 4.8 million will be from the Cohesion Fund and EUR 19.1 million from EAFRD - European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
The amount related to the Cohesion Fund to be distributed through PO SEUR to the CIMs will be as follows: Beira Baixa - 255 000 euros; Beiras and Serra da Estrela - 800 000 euros; Médio Tejo - 637 500 euros; West - 425 000 euros; Aveiro region - 678 700 euros; Coimbra region - 352 700 euros; Leiria Region - 1.382 million euros; Viseu Dão Lafões - 310,000 euros.
The ceremony is scheduled to start at 16:00 and will be attended by the Deputy Minister and Regional Development, Miguel Poiares Maduro, and the Secretary of State for Regional Development, Manuel Castro Almeida.
