AD & C - Agency for Development and Cohesion released the first issue of the Informative Report on European Union Funds - QREN and Portugal 2020 as a successor to the Newsletter on QREN Informative Report - Quadro de Referência Estratégico Nacional 2007-2013, constituting a structural and graphic reformulation of this document. The Report presented now seeks to provide a more concise reading in the early part of analysis of the application of EU Funds managed by national authorities, referring to more structured and detailed information by Program and Fund.

This new Report on QREN and PT 2020 was prepared by UAME - Evaluation Unit and Strategic Monitoring / Monitoring Center of AD & C. It is noted that the highlights of the QREN in June 2015 were:

• The implementation rate reached 93%, corresponding to an amount background validated in the quarter of 812 M €, higher than both the first quarter of 2015 (670 M €) or the same quarter of 2014 (790 M €);
• This quarter, the spread between the commitment fee and the NSRF implementation rate was reduced by 4 percentage points from 21 percentage points to 17 percentage points.

As regards Portugal 2020, the highlights are:

• Since November 2014, 217 Calls for Applications have been launched, of which 90 are already closed;
• In this connection, there is the field of competitiveness and internationalization, which were launched in 133 Calls;
• With regard to applications by June 2015 were presented more than 5700 applications, representing about EUR 3,600 million;
• The vast majority of applications submitted falls within the field of competitiveness and internationalization (5659).

This is the first issue of a new series of bulletins and reports, which becomes part of Portugal 2020, whose final graphic version should be available by the middle of next September.
