To address the financing of clean energy for all Europeans, the European Parliament and the European Commission co-organize a high-level Conference on 7 November between 9.30 and 6.30 CET in Brussels. Among the themes of the conference that will take place in the European Parliament are the role of EU funding in the energy transition, investment in large energy projects including cross-border transport infrastructures and electricity production infrastructure from renewable energies.
This great event will bring together political leaders, energy professionals, investors and other stakeholders to review the Clean Energy Package and discuss investment domains of the energy transition. The energy sector is central to the European economy but also accounts for two-thirds of greenhouse gas emissions and thus plays a key role in the implementation of the Paris Agreement.
If the EU is to achieve its environmental impact reduction targets, it is estimated that an annual investment of around € 379 billion is needed in the areas of energy efficiency, renewable energy and infrastructure between 2020 and 2030.
