Published today, September 30, Call for Applications code POSEUR-09-2015-25 within Coastal Protection - Material Actions aimed at the production of knowledge, information management and monitoring. This is aimed at the Portuguese Environment Agency, IP (APA) and other public incorporated entities that may result from the new coastal governance, as discussed by GTL report on Chapter 7 - "Governance Model", which are dedicated to developing integrated rehabilitation coastal operations, having framework in point d) of paragraph 1 of Article 77 of the RE SEUR.

The extent of national seashore, high coastal hydrodynamics and sedimentary dynamics tend to aggravate erosion phenomena, the concentration of population and economic activities in these areas, disruptions to the functioning of ecosystems (urban sprawl, soil sealing , fragmentation of habitats and loss of biodiversity), as well as trends associated with climate change (more violent storms, rising level of the sea, etc.) make it a priority to protect the coast and its people to face the risks, especially of coastal erosion.

This Call for Applications / Invitation is intended to support intelligent interventions, efficient and coastal protection and resilience, whose objective is the protection and conservation of the coastline, anticipating risks and scenarios magnified by climate change. Priority should be given to interventions with structural character and systemic impact in reducing coastal erosion, promoting the restoration of balance in sediment dynamics along the coast.

Applications may be submitted using Balcão 2020 until 18:00 of next January 29, 2016.
