The project TecBIS - Accelerator of Companies of the Pedro Nunes Institute (IPN) is one of the finalists of the RegioStars Awards, promoted by the European Commission with the objective of identifying good practices of regional development, highlighting innovative projects, supported by European funds. TecBIS is the only Portuguese project the Contest! Your vote is decisive for the "People's Choice" award and you can vote here.

TecBIS was financed by the Regional Operational Program of the Center and was supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) with EUR 7 million in an overall investment of 8.2 million.

In activity since May 2014, the IPN Business Accelerator is an enterprise support infrastructure that operates downstream of its Incubator, aiming to meet the specific needs of companies in the most advanced state of development, which have already proven the market and ambition to grow quickly and sustainably. The Business Accelerator intends to mobilize technology-based and innovative companies with high growth potential, offering a set of technical services, with highly qualified human resources and with the objectives of enhancing their internationalization capacity and increasing their technological intensity.

The awards ceremony will take place in Brussels on 10 October 2017 during the European Week of Regions and Cities.
