Today, August 31, Call for Applications / Invitaion POSEUR-10-2015-23 was published and directed to the Intermunicipal Community of Aveiro region for structural operations of clearing, river regulation and flood control in frequent flooding and high damage areas in Lower Vouga Lagoon.

Ria de Aveiro is one of the twenty-two critical flooding areas characterized in the flood hazard maps and flood risk. The Lower Vouga Lagoon Project aims and has as main function the prevention of risks of floods and flooding, in this whole area. This is a structural investment aimed at reducing the risk of floods and floods in the Lower Vouga Lagoon region, where the defense of the territory, of persons and property against flooding, floods and tides, assumes a very important priority.

It is anticipated so the construction of hydraulic infrastructure to protect against floods and tides, and controlling the flow of the Vouga River in the area known as the "Rio Novo do Príncipe", focusing on the whole area of ​​the Lower Vouga Lagoon.

Applications may be submitted through Balcão 2020 until 18:00 next December 30, 2015.
