The distinction was awarded in Brussels, at the European Week of Regions and Cities. From a group of 104 projects that were supported by EU funds, 23 finalists were chosen divided into five categories. The "Bio Centre: biorefineries, biofuels and bioproducts," created by BLC3, from Oliveira do Hospital, brings to Portugal the distinction of the Committee.

From June 14 to 16 the EUSEW - Sustainable Energy European Week takes place in Brussels, at which, under its Policy Conference, the European Union is asking for contributions to the edition 2016 until 22 February 2016. PO SEUR - Operational Programme Sustainability and Efficient Use of Resources will launch on the 23rd of November, 11.00 am, a Call for Applications aimed at public institutions of higher education, in partnership with the IMT for the implementation of projects in the academic communities in order to generate primary energy savings obtained through the modal shift from individual motorized transport to cycling mode.
