PO SEUR published yesterday, August 25, Call for Applications with code POSEUR-17-2015-21. This is the 1st Notice published by the Programme for recovery and resolution of priority environmental liabilities of industrial origin.

The support provided for in this Call for Applications is mainly targeted at the recovery of contaminated or degraded sites classified as environmental liabilities as a result of industrial activities currently disabled or abandoned, geographically defined and considered hazardous to public health and the environment and for the safety of people and goods requiring urgent resolution, constituting priority environmental liabilities and simultaneously not applicable for the polluter-paying principle or that have established a misdemeanor of cost internalization capability.

With this 1st Call for Applications on the recovery of environmental liabilities under Portugal 2020 starts a new period of intervention in this area, aiming not only to continue the recovery of priority environmental liabilities of industrial origin, which were the object of intervention under QREN, but also give the possibility to retrieve new liabilities, recognized as such by the environmental authorities, whose resolution is too urgent and priority, and is shown to be impossible to apply the polluter-paying principle.

Applications may be submitted through Balcão 2020 until 18:00 next November 20, 2015.
