Was published yesterday, February 29, Call for Applications with code POSEUR-11-2016-35, for the reinforcement of Selective Collection networks and awareness / information campaigns (in Madeira Autonomous Region). Applications may be submitted using Balcão 2020 until 18:00 of June 29, 2016.

Under this Call for Applications were considered priority, and therefore are eligible for submission, the following operations:

i) Strengthening of existing selective collection networks, notably through the acquisition of underground and surface ecopoints for selective collection and containers and vehicles that are not a mere replacement of existing but an expansion of the capacity to collect;

ii) Awareness campaigns / public information, encouraging the adoption of good waste management practices, in particular in the prevention and reduction of its production, as well as the appropriate selective deposition of recyclable waste.

The following beneficiaries with competence in the management of municipal waste provided for in Article 89 of the RE SEUR are eligible under the following points:  

- Local authorities and their associations;  

- Municipal utilities companies, intercity or multimunicipal: ARM - Águas e Resíduos da Madeira, S.A..
