The € 75 million of Community funding for urban waste recovery that was hold at the European Commission was now released. With the green light from Brussels, applications will finally be approved for a total investment amount of € 94 million.
Thus, the PO SEUR will immediately finalize the application processes, which have been pending for about a year and a half because of the need to clarify the possible existence of State aid in the financing of entities in this sector.
With the release of these € 75 million, it will now be possible to rapidly advance for the approval of projects for the selective collection and sorting of municipal waste, helping to achieve the goals set out in the PERSU 2020 Strategic Plan for Urban Waste.
It is worth remembering that, for the waste sector, PO SEUR has 230 million euros available, covering 23 multi-municipal and inter-municipal managing entities.
