Operational Programme for Sustainability and Efficient Use of Resources for 2014-2020 was subjected to a process of Strategic Environmental Assessment (AAE). This is a tool to analyze systematically the significant environmental effects of plans, programmes and policies even during the preparation process and before its adoption, allowing to detect problems and strategic opportunities under consideration in early stages.

By supporting the development of the programme options, integrating environmental, social and economic components through a more integrated and comprehensive view, it is a fundamental instrument for the adoption and promotion of sustainable principles and practices, thereby improving the quality of current and future decisions.

IIn "About the Programme" documents concerning PO SEUR Strategic Environmental Assessment are now available, including Environment Report, the Non-Technical Summary, which summarizes in plain language the information contained in the Environmental Report, making the main opportunities and risks related to the PO SEUR known to the general public. In the same location the PO SEUR Environmental Statement is also available showing how the environmental report was integrated into the PO SEUR, indicating the results of the consultations for the preparation, the reasons for the approval of PO SEUR in the light of other alternatives and control measures planned to monitor this strategy.
